Founded in 2007, Mediscrubs began as a small side business run from the kitchen table. Today, it’s a leading Australian provider of medical uniforms, serving both individual healthcare professionals and large enterprise clients. With a strong focus on design, customer experience, and reliable supply, the company has grown into a trusted brand for scrubs nationwide.
But as growth accelerated — particularly during COVID — Mediscrubs needed a robust, flexible ecommerce solution to support high SKU volumes, B2B portals, and rapid order turnaround.
The situation
Mediscrubs originally operated on a WordPress site, but the platform struggled under the weight of complex product data and more than 25,000 SKUs. Plugins would fail, load times dragged, and managing embroidery options or inventory updates became nearly impossible.
The team realised they needed an ecommerce system that could handle scale, streamline processes, and support the business’s shift from purely direct-to-consumer (D2C) to also targeting enterprise-level clients.
Why Neto by Maropost
In 2022, Mediscrubs decided to change their site technology. Their choice was between Neto by Maropost and Shopify. After researching both, Mediscrubs chose Neto by Maropost based on Neto's flexibility and opportunity for customisation.
Working with Otus Technologies as their implementation partner, Mediscrubs tailored the platform to their needs — from building a fully interactive embroidery module that lets customers upload logos and preview designs, to developing private B2B portals for enterprise clients.
This transition to Neto completely transformed Mediscrubs' operations.
“Features like our embroidery customisation simply wouldn’t be possible on other platforms. Neto makes it easy.”

Shortly after, the company added Maropost Marketing Cloud, integrating ecommerce data with powerful marketing automation.
“Maropost is our conduit to the world,” says Jason Dacey, Director and co-owner of Mediscrubs. “It drives both ecommerce and B2B — and with the help of our partner Otus Technologies, we’ve been able to heavily customise it to fit our business.”
The Approach
Building B2B portals with Neto by Maropost
One of the biggest breakthroughs was the ability to use Neto by Maropost to create private, branded portals for large clients such as Bupa and Southern Cross University.
These portals integrate with client procurement systems (like Coupa), enabling seamless ordering, approvals, and invoicing with zero manual intervention.
For Southern Cross University alone, Mediscrubs onboarded 4,500 students through a dedicated portal for clinical placement uniforms — a customer acquisition feat that would have taken years through consumer marketing channels.
“We haven’t done a pitch where the client hasn’t loved the portals. Everyone sees the value immediately.”

Leveraging Marketing Cloud
On the marketing side, Mediscrubs shifted from Klaviyo and Mailchimp to Maropost Marketing Cloud. With access to real-time ecommerce data, their email campaigns quickly became a top revenue driver.
- 195,000 emails per week sent (65,000 contacts, 3 campaigns weekly)
- Open Rate: ~33.3%
- Click-Through Rate (CTR): ~15.8%
- Click-to-Open Rate (CTOR): ~47.4%
Creative tactics like the “Hour of Power” — a 40% off flash sale for one hour — regularly drive transaction spikes every 30 seconds.
“Email has overtaken paid ads as our biggest revenue driver — and that’s thanks to Maropost Marketing Cloud.”
Results
- 18% year-on-year revenue growth in the past 12 months
- B2B share of revenue increased from 25% to 40% in one year
- 25,000+ SKUs managed smoothly, including custom embroidery options
- EDM revenue now outpaces paid ads, with email contributing more than 30% of online sales
“25,000+ SKUs, 195,000 weekly emails, and 18% growth — those numbers show how far we’ve scaled with Maropost.”
What’s next
Mediscrubs is doubling down on B2B expansion, leveraging the success of its Maropost-powered portals to win more large enterprise contracts. On the marketing front, the company is exploring deeper segmentation, aiming to tailor campaigns based on customer preferences (e.g., navy vs. pink scrubs).
“Thanks to Neto by Maropost, we’ve built private portals that look and feel like the client’s own business — and every client we’ve shown them to loves the solution. Instead of chasing D2C leads, we’re winning enterprise clients of scale. B2B is now the engine room of our growth, and with Maropost, we’re only just scratching the surface of what’s possible.”
